Still a-chillin'

This week we only had ONE day of school: Monday, and of course all the teachers said that the snow pro~bably wouldn't stick, you know, the ground being warm from the 70 degree day shortly before.... and they didn't want to come to school on Good Friday, but... no dice. SNOOOOW on Tuesday.... SNOOOOW on Wednesday... and SNOOOOW on Thursday. Actually, last night/today I was up till three, at which time I let my dog out into a few softly falling flakes, and let her in about 10 minutes later to escape a solid wall of white. Poor Sumaki was covered in snow; she looked like the ghost german shepherd. It came down like I don't know what. But today, (Friday) her inner puppy came out and she actually played in the snow, galloping and knocking and rolling like she wasn't 13 years old and limping sadly minutes before. I hope this isn't her last snow. She looks like she enjoyed it.
But of course, now we have school on Good Friday, and summer... Ah well. Happy winter to all.

Winter in Texas

Here in the northern hemisphere, in the wierdest little state in the world, we are having a snow day off school, and another tomorrow, after a 70 F day about 3 days ago. It's COLD, but at least there is a little rhyme and reason now that snow has come with it. I can't stand cold without snow. But it's interesting how it varies in other places too: Some friends of mine in Australia told me how icky-sticky HOT it is today, while another in Canada says she only gets snow days if the drifts get over 3 feet. I wouldn't mind trading with the Australians, but the Canadian policy makes me feel like one from a rather alarmist state. XD
